UNITED STATES - For more than three (3) years under its US Navy Global Health Information Management IDIQ, SDV INTERNATIONAL has supported the rollout of MHS GENESIS, the Military Health System’s (MHS) new electronic health care record.
In its role as trusted custodians of MHS healthcare information, SDV INTERNATIONAL staff has conducted studies and tests to assess and analyze the current organizational processes and states, targeted states, and the gap analyses.
SDV INTERNATIONAL has provided numerous findings and recommendations to the MHS. For example, at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, SDV analyzed and tested the transition from legacy health record-keeping systems to MHS GENESIS and produced gap analysis that exposed workforce and revenue cycle impact at the facility.
Once fully deployed, MHS GENESIS will provide a standardized, advanced electronic health record to more than 9.5 million Department of Defense beneficiaries, while providing an advanced platform for approximately 205,000 MHS staff globally.
SDV INTERNATIONAL staff also support the application of standardized workflows, integrated health care delivery, and data standards for the improved and secure electronic exchange of medical and dental patient data across the continuum of care, from point of injury to the military treatment facility. SDV INTERNATIONAL applies a wide variety of tools, with Microsoft SharePoint workflows being a central component.
Worth noting, MHS GENESIS utilizes the same software under development by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for its new electronic health record system and will be interoperable by default. When fully deployed, information between the two health care systems (i.e. MHS and VA) will be passed securely, conveniently and easily, helping to ensure a warm handoff of service members into the VA system of care.
