We were awarded a contract exceeding $41,000,000 by the U.S. Department of State to provide Linguist Services in Iraq. In late 2019, SDV INTERNATIONAL was awarded a $450,000,000 contract by the U.S. Department of State to provide global operational support services, including linguist solutions.
Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI)
For requirements relating to automated transcription, SDV INTERNATIONAL has partnered with Konch, which has been successfully serving Danish and American universities over the past three (3) years. Together, we have formed a consortium named Konch International, and our platform is named Konch.
Konch has the most user-friendly automated transcription platform, built with security and GDPR as a focus from the ground up, in the market. Konch is an automated transcription platform that turns audio and video files into time-stamped, editable, text in 30 languages including Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish. It supports most export formats, has a native integration with Kaltura and plugs into WAYF for easy and secure authentication through SAML.
All customers onboarded may have their own workspace or share workspaces if needed. Each workspace comes with individual reporting and user administration. New organizations can be deployed within an hour.
Konch has an intuitive web application, which is built on our publicly available REST API.
Konch is fully GDPR compliant with our entire infrastructure in the EU and no data processing or storage outside of the EU. Konch has and continues to maintain DPA’s with 6 of the Danish universities.
Konch’s infrastructure separates its user authentication (PII) and hosting with its transcription pipeline services. Usernames, passwords, email and other identifying information is siloed using Google’s EU Firebase infrastructure, and APIs and transcriptions processing and storage is hosted using AWS’s DynamoDB and S3. Only non-PII GUIDs are shared between the systems.
Additionally, all processing is completely serverless and each request starts and tears down upon each request. Finally, all data is stored at rest and in transit using 256-bit encryption.
All this equates to a minimal attack surface, and mitigated data breaches or attacks, minimizing our potential for product wide leaks.
A Final Human Touch
If users require +99% accurate transcripts, it’s possible to request a “Precision” job upon uploading a media file (via UI or API). The media file will be transcribed using our automated transcription workflow and will then be queued to be reviewed and corrected by a human transcriber before delivered back to the end user.
