Sydney, Australia -- SDV INTERNATIONAL visits the U.S. Consulate in Sydney, which is the oldest American Foreign Service post in Australia. The first American Consul was appointed in 1836, providing for more than 180 years of diplomatic relations between our two great nations.
Today, we observed the U.S. Consul General join the Daughters of the American Revolution from the local Captain James Cook Chapter and visiting Texas Chapter to lay wreaths at the ANZAC Memorial in Hyde Park Sydney. ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the first campaign that led to major casualties for Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. The acronym ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps for whose soldiers were known as Anzacs. #USwithAUS
